Amanda is an awe seeker, queer, haunting, pagan, witch and the Creatrix of Heathen Moon. She’s just trying to make the most out of this capitalist hell-scape of the modern world with Witchcraft and activism…and healthy doses of naps and spooky shit (see listening to your own cycles and rhtyhms). Amanda strives to maintain a  curated life - not within an echo-chamber, but one that is full of unique challenges of a witch and community member. 

She loves everything paranormal, cryptid, and horror-related - if there’s a phenomena, Amanda’s into it. She is dedicated to learning and unlearning through conducting research and boots on the ground within the community spaces she is welcomed into - never sitting at tables not for her, she understands what being a guest entails. She has worked really hard to do what she can daily to recognize the magic there is to behold, both inside and outside of herself.

“When I was younger, I felt my spirit stir with poetry. Words are deeply impactful, connecting us to each other and realms beyond. Like tendrils tracing and linking between worlds.  I also  LOVE film and watching stories unfold cinematically. Cine-mancy is a huge part of my ques from within this realm that something is clicking into place. A modern take on visual experiences.”

Her foundation within magic and witchcraft can be summed up as Animistic, the layers with which she weaves within the wyrd are many. She has a deep reverence to the region she resides within, owing a lot of her understanding of animism to the spirits that dwell here. In doing what she can every day as an uninvited guest to ensure the land is stewarded by its rightful guardians.  The future is Indigenous. 

She looks to many community members within different Nations for guidance, but her accountability and unlearning is her sole responsibility. 

“My practice is rooted in trusting my intuition, folk traditions, land based magic, and personal as well as spiritual development. I believe we can all discover really delicious and interesting things about the world, each other and ourselves if we let ourselves  be guided by our curiousity, and acknowledge what inspires awe in and around us.  What makes our hearts beat faster...that's the magic we're after.” 

“As a polytheistic practitioner I have a great respect and understanding of various traditions and magical approaches. The traditions and lore I am well versed in are: Nordic, Anglo Saxon, Celtic, Hellenic & Roman mythology and practice. Always recognizing I am a guest at the table, and not a part of the current culture - (this phrase is from mentor and guide Sterling Moon.)  My own heritage and the magic within my bones and blood is something I am still discovering and weaving through. It is a monumental task and one that I have needed grace to step back from time to time. To marinate and brew with the information that is gathered, from this realm with research and the unseen realm within meditation and my own otherworldly explorations. This I know is a privilege. My ancestral lines are Swedish, Anglo Saxon, Cornish & Belgium.” 

Amanda is a professionally practicing  Witch and has developed her own distinct way of weaving magic and intention in this wyrd and wonderful world. Community support is a big part of her day to day life.

“I enjoy experimenting and don't shy away from the hard work. I'm dedicated to becoming the grisly old witch of the woods, with a hot hearth and a cool creek to tend to as curiosity and awe fuels my days.”

You can find her communing with spirits through a variety of methods. She is a sucker for cartomancy (divination using cards)  tarot, with its varying forms of art and nuance. Runes and charms of all kinds. “I just love the exploration of divination in general and have knowledge and capacity for many forms and modalities, but like many things, each of them has a season and a cycle within my life and practice.” 

Above all, within divination and practice a like, is experimenting with new ways to bring  *—mancy to everyday life.  (*divination by a specified means). She doesn’t shy away from introducing and experimenting with different ingredients, recipes, techniques and methodologies that are open and available to her.

She is an alumni of Sterling Moon's Modern Mediums 2023 class, and came away with some fine tuning in regards to her psychic senses and mediumship abilities. 

“The land has so many important lessons for us. Plant spirits are important energies to delve into and explore. And depending on our intention, we can have varying degrees of communication. I’ll be honest, before November 2022, I couldn't keep a plant alive for long... But I am pleased to say I have a wide array of well tended plant friends who I share and commune with now. I wasn't fully convinced my partner Ryan didn't help, but he has assured me that he has not. So my thumb is clearly turning green as I type this.  Ryan has been a wonderful partner who can just "tell" things about plants, and thus, we have a beautiful and magical garden to harvest our plant allies from.” 

Within the realm of co-creation I want you to know each situation or circumstance is unique, and my goal within consultation and sharing my Craft and energy with you is to tailor exactly what you need to gain perspective, shift, embody, and create alignment within your life. When I share with you, either in a public format or 1:1, it will either be techniques I have used for decades and have personally found effective or Spirit will give me a nudge and say "Psst - you gotta try THIS," and we will collaborate with that energy together to determine what the best path to take is.

My practice is one of personal growth and experimentation. I love to create, learn, and share my wisdom with others. When I present a recipe or ritual, it is with my whole heart and my experience behind it. I offer consultations and 1:1 Spell Services where we can create, collaborate, and ask questions. I yearn to be the Village Witch who offers no judgment, but impactful nudges of Spirit and perspective, in a compassionate, but no bullshit kind of way.  I recognize patterns and cycles, both within the seasons and your own unique rhythm, and provide guidance for people throughout their lives. Whether it's a boost to your perspective, a creative way to work through a situation using your own unique energy, a new way to work a spell or ritual, or simply inspiration and guidance, I am here to help. I'm not afraid of the rough and gritty parts of the spirit, and I'm death positive, having helped many beings and caregivers navigate the liminal space between dying and last breath. Whether that be the physical or a former self. 

I am considerate of each situation and circumstance, and I will ask many questions and delve into complicated and sensitive subject matter with compassion. I have a wide variety of resources to share and unpack with you.  I am a full-time witch as shop owner here at Heathen Moon, and formerly shop keep and community member at Phoenix Rising. My 5 years within Phoenix gave me a unique and diverse range of resources that I can share and delve into with you. 

I exercise discernment and research on a daily basis to evaluate and authenticate resources, including books, podcasts, and practitioners. If I believe that I am not the ideal fit for you, I will be honest and direct you to resources more suitable for your needs.
